There are a number of Tickle families in Virginia, USA. Are they all related many generations ago? DNA testing could give us the answer to this, as the common ancestor may be before there were extensive written records.
This week I’ve added records for some descendents of Daniel Tickle and Sarah Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Lineberry, who lived in Bland, Virginia, in the early 19th century. I have many more records for this family but its history is complicated with some members having multiple marriages and, possibly, marrying cousins. I want to take my time to try to verify the information I’ve been given before I add it to the database.
My thanks to Ben Tickle for supplying me with lots of details. How about doing a Y-DNA test, Ben? Let’s see if we can find out which other Tickle families are related to yours.
You can see the records I’ve added so far here.
If you’re related to this family, please get in touch and tell me what you know of your family history.
