Various Bryan Tickles

Posted on 27th January 2019 By admin No Comments on Various Bryan Tickles

Many years ago, my Auntie Barbara, my father’s cousin, asked a professional genealogist to help her try to overcome a ‘brick wall’ in her family history research. She couldn’t find her g.g.grandfather. The genealogist reported back that he believed him to be called Bryan Tickle but Barbara did not accept this to be the case. Many names were related in the family tree, but not a single Bryan among them.

When I became interested in exploring my ancestors I ran into the same brick wall. Like Barbara, I rejected Bryan Tickle as a possible forebear. However, now I am not so sure ….

If he WAS our ancestor it might provide a link with the Galveston Tickles whose story is told on this site as it’s possible their ancestor was one of his sons as well.

Anyway, I’ve been spending some time researching records for all the Bryan and Brian Tickles I can find in Lancashire in the early to mid 19th century. I have already uploaded a few individuals named Bryan to the Genealogy section of the website. Some of the information still needs to be verified and pruned so please let me know if you find anything you believe is inaccurate. I’ll post again once I have added all the Bryan Tickles I can find for this period.

Bryan Tickle b 1666 Sutton, Lancashire. He had many children, including two called Bryan, who both died very young.

Other Bryan Tickles can be found here.
